BIllie Eilish Is Breaking Records
February 13, 2020
The 18 year old Grammy winner Billie Eilish is making new waves in the music world. Eilish is now a 5 time Grammy winner, taking every major music award in one night.
This included Record of the Year and Best New Artist. She is now the youngest Album of the Year winner ever, breaking the record held by Taylor Swift, who one the award at twenty for her album “Fearless.”
Billie Eilish has been breaking many records and some just for her age. Eilish also broke the record for the Most Simultaneous Hits on Billboard Hot 100 Among Women.
“Eilish became only the second artist in Grammy history, and the first female artist, to sweep all of the “Big Four” awards (Record, Album, and Song of the Year, plus Best New Artist) in a single ceremony — a feat that even past Grammy darlings like Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Sam Smith have failed to pull off in recent years,” says Yahoo Entertainment.
This quadruple win is one of BIllie Elish’s most recent achievements in the music industry. A major achievement for an 18 year old.
Eilish wrote and produced her first song “Ocean Eyes” when she was just 15 years old, which became a massive hit and sparked her music career.
Then in 2017, Eilish released “dont smile at me” and gained popularity with this first full album. For scale, Eilish had 257 thousand followers on Instagram at that time.
Going into 2018, she had really gained people’s attention, shown by her 6.3 million followers.
By 2019, she was an international pop star, after releasing her second full album “WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?,” which included the Grammy winning song “bad guy.”
This pop sensation made a jump into international stardom with her 40.7 million Instagram followers in 2019.
At the age of 18, Billie Eilish has made waves in the music industry and has shown how much someone can achieve at such a young age.
