RHS Student Council Adopts New Constitution
At a meeting earlier today, June 11th, the Rhinebeck High School Student Council ratified a new constitution.
After revisiting the original constitution, Student Council officers agreed that the document was outdated and insufficient.
With the help of Student Council Adviser and former lawyer Gideon Moor, officers reviewed a variety of constitutions from different high schools and colleges.
Ultimately officers decided that Middlebury College’s Student Council Constitution would serve as the most useful guideline for drafting our own document.
Before the ratification vote, all Student Council officers had the opportunity to comment on and contribute to the draft.
At today’s meeting, Student Council officers agreed that the revised constitution better reflects Student Council’s goals and practices.
