After interviewing the fashionistas at Rhinebeck the results are in. One item that every student noted as trendy were Adidas Sambas. These US-made shoes are very popular among students at Rhinebeck. Sambas are not only trendy but also fashionable. Even though shoes may not be noticeable to some, Sambas are a definite exception because all grades can be seen sporting them.
Where Do You Shop?
When asked the preferred way to shop the outcome was split. There was no common pattern if students preferred to shop online or in real life; however, thrifting both in person and online was a preferred way to shop across all grades. Similar to thrifting, hand-me-downs from older siblings were popular across the board.
Popular Styles
Brands of clothing were not as important as styles of clothing. A frequent style of clothing was baggy or street styled looks. Street styles include baggy jeans and graphic tees with fun colors or patterns.
A common look that goes along with the baggy style is the technique of layering shirts. Usually a block color long sleeve shirt is worn under a colorful or graphic shirt to show off both style and the shirt.
How to Find Your Style
Finding your style can be hard but luckily your fashionistas at Rhinebeck have come to help. An app that was commonly recommended to help find and inspire a person’s personal style was… Pinterest! Not only did the students recommend Pinterest to help with styling clothes but also Instagram. One student in particular has found one of their fashion icons on Instagram. This student not only is inspired by Jason Bucknor, a soccer player for LA Galaxy but also follows his fashion advice. So the next time you have a style block, look to Pinterest, Instagram or even ask one of your fellow Rhinebeck fashion icons.
