Student Council is buzzing with the party planning energy of Homecoming. October 11th is only three weeks away, and this year’s homecoming weekend is set to be bigger, louder, and more unforgettable than ever. President Gwen Dampf and Vice President Jack Melious are working hard to give us a great event. New to the advisor scene is Jennifer Nelson, who is also excited for this project to come to fruition.
This year, Rhinebeck’s Homecoming theme is disco. Think glitter, mirror balls, lava lamps, and a transport back in time with great music and nonstop dancing.
However, there’s a twist. This year, our annual dance is not in the high school gym. Instead, the party will be held in the event hall at Church of the Messiah on Montgomery Street.
“Jack and I are extremely excited to host this event for our high school. It means so much to us to start this year strong,” says Gwen. The student council here at Rhinebeck is ready to tackle this theme, in all of its sparkle and shine.
Tickets go on sale this Friday 9/19 at the PTSO back to school barbecue at the mini park and will be for sale in the cafeteria during lunch leading up to the event. Ask your class officer for details.
