Wednesday October 1st our boys cross country team faces Pine Plains and New Paltz at Pine Plains high school in an exciting divisional match up. Last year Pine Plains cross country team placed first in the division at the section 9 championships. This year Rhinebeck’s team hopes to get even and defeat Pine Plains on their home course. Our team has looked promising this year with 5 of our runners running under a 25 minute 5k at our first meet at mount academy and our second meet where we defeated Millbrook at home with similar times from our top runners. I spoke with Landon Williams, who has been on the boys cross country team for the longest time among this year’s runners about how he felt about this upcoming meet, Landon says “its going to be stressful to prepare for this rivalry, as a team I think we are strong, Rhinebeck strong” along with this he said that he has high hopes for this season. I also spoke with Augustus Lamm who is confident that our team will perform well in the upcoming meet, Augustus says “our team has been working hard I believe we will be able to take home the win for the hawks” showing his confidence in the team.
