Who’s Who? – David Bowie
David Robert Jones, known as David Bowie, was one of the most influential musicians in history.
Beginning his career through acting, he starred in The Man Who Fell to Earth as Thomas Jerome Newton. His first hit song, Space Oddity, was released in 1969. His ability to adapt to evolutions in music and his radical changes in his style and appearance had pegged him as a musical chameleon.
In his time, he was very risque and he was criticized for his flamboyance. His style was exemplified in his starring role the 1986 hit film Labyrinth. This movie received a royal premiere, attended by the Prince and Princess of Wales.
David Bowie’s legacy still influences artists today and will most likely continue to for a very long time.
