Friday, 4/24: Power Down and Dress Up

Fancy Friday! Dress up in your nicest clothes, and think about what life would have been like for your family in the 18th century by powering down: use minimal power, have a candlelit dinner, turn off the computer, turn off your phone (except for pictures!), read, and talk!

Minimizing your power usage is an important part of reducing your carbon footprint!

You can do this by turning off devices when you’re not using them, or avoid using electricity when you don’t have to!

But just because you turned your electronics off, doesn’t mean energy isn’t being used.

The NRDC estimates that the average U.S. household would save $165 a year and prevent 44 million metric tons of carbon dioxide pollution by unplugging their devices instead of just turning them off.
