Finn Ashworth and Kris O’Brien find their new identities on a field trip to DCC campus.

On September 28th, RHS seniors in College Composition (English 101), took a tour of the Dutchess Community College campus.  They were given an introduction to the DCC library by RCSD Board Member Jaclyn Savolainen who works as a librarian there.

RHS students were also given DCC Student ID cards, which allows them discounts on Spotify and Apple Music subscriptions.  They also can get cheaper movie tickets and can ride the LOOP Bus for free.

This is the first year RHS is offering a chance to get college credits from DCC while taking a class at our school.  English 101 is a ton of writing (four-page essays and a big research paper on a topic that you find interesting.)  English 102, which is a spring course, is a writing class based on literature.

When you are an 11th grader, you can take a placement test in February to see if you qualify for the course as a senior.

Good luck, Class of 2019!
