"Alice in Wonderland" (2010) Review

Alice in Wonderland (2010) follows Alice Kingsleigh (Mia Wasikowska), who once visited the magical Underland as a child, but she is now a 19-year-old teenager with no memory of the place. She spots a certain white rabbit at her own engagement party and falls down a hole after him. Alice recognizes this world as the one she sees in her nightmares. She is reunited with her old friends the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), the Cheshire Cat, and others. Alice then learns of her destiny to end the Red Queen’s (Helena Bonham Carter) reign of terror. People tend to associate red with negative emotions. The color can also signify courage, anger, and power, and you get that feeling from just seeing the Red Queen appear on your screen. The film’s darker and duller colors help with the narrative of the tyrant Queen that stole the land from the White Queen and gives it a more depressing feel.

Overall I would rate this film a 9/10 for the great acting and storyline.
