“The Polar Express” (2004) Film Review

Directed by Robert Zemeicks, The Polar Express (2004) has become a classic animated Christmas movie. Following a young boy who doubts if Santa is real, believing it to be his parents, ends up going on the train ride of his life. Through his many perils and joys, he makes new friends and slowly learns more about himself as well as the spirit of Christmas.

The movie production itself was great and included a cast of well known people including Tom Hanks, who has worked with Zemeicks before, and Josh Hutcherson who provided some additional motion capture. It originally didn’t do well at the Box office, only making $286 million dollars against a $170 million dollar budget but later re-releases helped the films’ gross get to $314 million worldwide.

I give the movie a 10/10 for being an overall good movie with a good plot. I recommend it to anyone wanting to watch a good Christmas movie that’s entertaining no matter what age you are.
