Spirit Week at Rhinebeck High School is just around the corner, starting Monday, December 8th and running through Friday, December 12th.
A tradition which happens multiple times during the school year, Spirit Week gives students five days to break away from their usual routines.
Students love Spirit Week for the opportunity to express themselves and show off their enthusiasm, creativity and school spirit.
It is the job of the student council to carefully curate the theme for each day of the week, taking inspiration from years prior, student recommendations, and social media trends.
In the days leading up it is tradition for the classes to make posters and decorate their hallways.

The highlight of the week, as always, is the long standing tradition of the pep rally. Students dress in their designated class colors and pack the gym to compete in friendly competitions that bring out both class rivalry and school unity. As for the freshman, the pep rally serves as a first real glimpse into what it means to be a part of the Rhinebeck High School community.
The energy doesn’t stop when the final bell rings on Friday. Spirit Week typically leads into a Rhinebeck Hawks home game. This year the Varsity Girls Basketball team will take the court for the first time this season at home against Onteora. That same day, the Varsity Boys are headed to Onteora for an away game. The first game marks the debut of a new tradition: the new Hawks Nest mural in the student section, where students can pack the Nest and cheer for the Hawks.
Spirit Week continues to be a cherished tradition that brings the Rhinebeck community together. See you in the Nest on Friday.
