Often argued that it isn’t a Christmas movie, main character John McClane (Bruce Willis) goes to a holiday party off-duty from his typical work day at the NYPD. Everyone at the party is soon taken hostage by heavily armed terrorists trying to steal $640 million; everyone but John. Using his job connections and his wits to his advantage, the action-packed awesome storyline to save the hostages, including his estranged wife, from the threat, is intriguing media that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Perfect Christmas movie if you want something a little less typical and a little more eccentric.
