How do you see phone use changed from last year to this year?
Last year cell phones were allowed during free periods and lunch, but this year, phones are locked in Yondr pouches from beginning to end of the day, or must stay in your car if you drive. If your Yondr pouch gets lost or damaged, you might have to leave your phone home or keep it in the office each school day.
What do students do during lunch now instead of using phones?
They go to the gym, go outside, or go to clubs like I do. This year I am doing a climbing club and a newspaper club.
How is this policy helpful for students?
Students using their cell phones can be an addiction and a distraction in class. Without their cell phones they can focus better in class to get better grades.
What happens if you use your cell phone during the school day?
If you get caught on your cell phone in classes, study halls, lunch, recess, passing periods, in the bathrooms and many other places on school grounds, it will get taken for 5 school days, and if you are caught again it can be up to 10 days.
