¡Buen provecho!

On Friday April 5th, Rhinebeck High School’s Spanish Club held their first ever Cultural Foods Fiesta. The fiesta featured student-made dishes from around the Spanish-speaking world.

The food ranged from tamales from Mexico to alfajores from South America to sweets and treats from Spain. Another draw to the foods fiesta was the “Guac-off,” in which participants voted on the best of four separate guacamoles made by students.

Sofia Quon-Youle, Spanish Club (co)president, made the winning guacamole, and now holds the place as the current Spanish Club Guac Champion!

All funds raised at this event will be used to benefit the Hispanic community in our area, per the Spanish Club’s mission statement.

The diligent officers and members, as well as their dedicated faculty advisor Señor Pescador (Mr. Fisher), are preparing another fundraiser down the line, so ojos y oidos abiertos (keep your eyes peeled and your ears open)!
