The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight (2008) is another Christopher Nolan masterpiece. Featuring an incredible cast starring Christian Bale in the lead role, as well as other stars such as Heath Ledger, Morgan Freeman, and Cillian Murphy. As with any Christopher Nolan film, the cinematography is beautiful, every shot and effect is perfectly choreographed. Furthermore his use of practical effects envelops the viewer into the world of Gotham. One of the most notable uses of practical effects is the scene in which the Joker, played by Heath Ledger, blows up a hospital. They actually blew up an abandoned hospital for this shot.

Considering the film’s massive budget of $185 million it was a huge success with a box office return totaling $1.006 billion! Not only were the effects spectacular, so is the plot — the story demonstrates how loss and death can break a person. Christian Bale lights the screen on fire with an incredible performance as Batman, the character is portrayed perfectly whether it’s the chiseled matte black suit that looks the product of Michelangelo or choreography of the many fights. Christopher Nolan also selected the perfect conductor for the symphony of music. Hans Zimmer who has made so many beautiful scores such as Interstellar and Inception composed one of the best scores in film history that perfectly fits this movie and every scene within it. I would highly recommend this 10/10 film for anyone who loves cinematic masterpieces.
