The Dutchess County Fairgrounds has hosted a drive-thru light show called “The Wonderland of Lights” from November to December since 2021.
Some people are outraged by the prices of the wonderland of lights; some people also believe that the prices are standard.
Many outdoor drive-thru light shows started in 2020, during Covid, so people could be in the comfort and safety of their vehicles.
“The town wants to make money as per usual and they’re going to get it,” said Emily Seldin, senior at RHS. She also stated that the city people or other visitors from out of town are going to buy tickets.
Melodie Molinare, professional staff member at RHS, said the prices were “a little high.”
“I heard it’s beautiful, but I’m not paying $30,” said Molinare.
Sue Cotter, professional staff member at RHS also said the tickets were too expensive despite the work that goes into it.
“It’s bigger than it was last year…it goes all the way behind the cow barns, and the music is synced to the car,” said Cotter.
Cotter buys her tickets in July, when the price is half off.

I was shocked by the price! It could and should be better for the money. They could even have local artisans set up somewhere selling crafts, food trucks etc. For the cost , make it worthwhile!
