BMS Students Dazzle in Rhinebeck’s Got Talent’s Return

Rhys Duncan shows off his bo staff skills.

This Wednesday, May 25th in the Rhinebeck’s Got Talent Talent Show presented by the RHS Fall Drama Club and AV Club, we learned just how much talent the students of BMS and RHS have! Acts ranged from singing to bagpipe playing and everyone absolutely shined up on that stage! If you missed the talent show, here is a recap:

There were 19 total acts of students from both BMS and RHS who presented their talents to a panel of judges, Ms. St. Clair, Mr. Wiesenthal, Ms. Cahenzli, Mr. Tobon, and Ms. Grande, who would decide who won $100 or their school’s yearbook as a prize in both BMS and RHS! We were led through the night with hosts Chloe Moor and Alexis Martinez and opening announcer Joslan Carter started things off!

For the first act, we had Trayse Kasnia-Herman and Jeremiah Boyd doing a mystery act (which was singing the internet-sensation “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley), Nabil Jabari’s acoustic performance of “Take on Me” by A-ha on the guitar, Piper Martin singing and playing “Dancing Queen” by ABBA, Claire Frischknecht and Rose Wheeler doing a comedy routine, Rhys Duncan doing a bo staff routine, Keke Torgersen singing “Traitor” by Olivia Rodrigo, Joslan Carter singing “Speechless” by Naomi Scott acapella, Oona Isserles and Lucy Fleming playing “Duet No.4” by Giuseppe Gariboldi on the flute, Cheyenne McNamara singing “homecoming queen?” by Kelsea Ballerini, and Noah Bancroft and Matt Suter (otherwise known as Bugmeat) performing their original song “Stay Away.”

We then had an intermission where audience members could get food or purchase items to support the clubs that set up in the lobby, including tote bags from the RHS Art Club!

After that 15 minute break, there was Emily Jeffreys and Margaux Epter singing “Sweet Tooth” by Cavetown, Alex Aierstok performing with the diabolo, Kate Woods singing “If I Die Young” by The Band Perry acapella, Anna Quattrone performing a ballet routine, Xavier Davey doing a singing routine to “The Toy Box” by The Stupendium, Justin Morton doing a “Stairway to Heaven” by Led Zeppelin instrumental on electric guitar, Audrey Isserles singing “All I Want” by Olivia Rodrigo, Joe Hagerty singing an original song, “The Look in Her Eyes”, with the guitar, and Shea Gallagher doing an instrumental medley of “Scotland and the Brave” and “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipes!

The winners of the night were Audrey Isserles in BMS and Shea Gallagher in RHS!!!! The honorable mention in BMS was Alex Aierstok and Joe Hagerty in RHS!!!! A big congratulations to them, to everyone who bravely got up on that stage and showed their talents to our school, and to those who auditioned!

In addition, thanks to everyone who made it happen: the Fall Drama Club and AV Club, the judges, Baerhands Theater and Television, Inc. for supplying the $100 prizes, the BMS and RHS yearbook clubs for supplying the free yearbooks, and to anyone else who helped set things up and helped things run smoothly.

Rhinebeck has DEFINITELY got talent; see you when Rhinebeck’s Got Talent returns next year!
