“A Beautiful Mind” (2001) Review
A Beautiful Mind (2001), won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2002 just one year after it came out. The movie is a biographical drama about John Nash, the movie starts with him arriving at the University of Princeton with his room mate Charles Herman. John Nash is very smart and he is set on creating what he calls his “own original idea”. After graduating from college he gets a job which he soon becomes board with. He is recruited by the United States Department of Defense and remains friends with Charles. As the movie goes on and he gets older as his life continues, we start to see a change in his actions and the way that the movie is being told and then there is a shocking plot twist that completely changes the movie and everything you have thought about it up till now, Nash is diagnosed with schizophrenia. It is revealed that Charles and his job at the DOD were just hallucinations. This movie completely deserved its award for best picture and I would rate it at 10 out of 10.
