Stationed in the lobby and outside of the high school cafeteria, gallon water bottles decorated in pink can be found! These jugs are to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is celebrated in October.

The money is organized to go to the Northern Dutchess Hospital, for the breast cancer department. Northern Dutchess has an excellent organization for taking care of all patients with breast cancer and hopes to raise $50,000.

Pink lights are all around the center of Rhinebeck, to help promote awareness and support for breast cancer and raise money for the cause.

Sophomore Student Council President Ellie Firestone helped create and decorate these jugs to be placed in Rhinebeck High School.

“It’s very important because cancer patients are in need and we want to not only help treat but also to help prevent,” Ellie said.

Donations are so important to allow the hospital to reach its goal. Go donate for Breast Cancer Awareness Month to help.
