With the school year slowly but surely coming to an end, and national decision day on May 1st, the Rhinebeck High School Class of 2025 are planning their last memories at sports games, prom, the senior field trip, and their not-so-far-away graduation. Though, students are simultaneously scrambling to figure out their future plans, studies, and lifelong careers. Rhinebeck Reality got the chance to interview a handful of students in the class and saw future plans varying in athletics, the medical field, mathematics, entertainment, and much more!
What are you planning on studying in college?
Jillian Hanna: I plan on studying Biology and going down a Pre-Med track at Siena College.
Riona Hack: I am getting a BFA in Acting at Shenendoah University.
Jason Gisby Hanks: I am planning on studying Economics at Boston University.
Naomi Bozenski: I plan on studying Environmental Science while also rowing on the crew team at Ithaca College.
Brady Fischer: I am planning on studying Athletic Training and playing soccer at Castleton University.
Lisanne Epter: I plan to study Biomedical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
What/who inspired you to want to study this?
Jillian Hanna: Me, Myself, and I.
Riona Hack: Ever since I was a little girl, I have had the dream of being an actress. I have done over 30 productions and with each I fall more and more in love with the world of theater. I know it’s a risky field but I am willing to take the risk because I honestly cannot imagine myself doing anything else.
Jason Gisby-Hanks: My dad studied it and always expressed his interest in it. He has always pushed me into being the best version of myself. I also want to be in a financially comfortable position which a career in this field could fulfill.
Naomi Bozenski: Spending a lot of time outdoors during my childhood and seeing the current state of the environment have inspired me to study this in college.
Brady Fischer: I’ve alway been an athlete and continuing to be around other athletes is inspiring and motivating to me.
Lisanne Epter: I have always wanted to have a job that helps people. By majoring in this I have the ability to either go on and go to medical school to hopefully become a surgeon. Or, I can help engineer the different equipment that is now used in ORS to help assist with surgery.
Do you have a vision for your future career in that field?
Jillian Hanna: After med school I plan on doing an internship, finding a good job, and starting saving my money. Hopefully later down the road I will become a dermatologist.
Riona Hack: My goal for after college is to be able to support myself while doing what I love, which is to act.
Jason Gisby-Hanks: I am unsure where I will end up but I want to be able to support myself.
Naomi Bozenski: I’m not exactly sure yet what specific career I want, but I know there are a lot of different jobs available with a degree in environmental science.
Brady Fischer: I hope to be an athletic trainer for a college or professional athletic team.
Lisanne Epter: I can imagine myself traveling around the world to different ORS to help the surgeons and other doctors know how to use the equipment.
Conclusion
This shows a handful of the surplus of talents and passions the RHS Class of 2025 represents. They’ve come such a long way since entering freshman year in 2021 and we look forward to seeing all they accomplish!
