Music to Love

Music to Love

Music comes in many notes and forms.

Countless amounts of music genres is a good thing, because that means that there is no end to our developing taste and knowledge of music.

Some people may like certain genres like metal or rock, while others may enjoy listening to genres like rap and hip-hop. Music is an important necessity that most of us would prefer not to live without. For instance, music can make a boring setting happy.

Say it’s a rainy day and you’re going home on the bus. Although the weather may be dreary, the type of music you’re listening to may deeply change your mood.

You could listen to something jazzy, which could put you in a nostalgic 1950s setting, where jazz was strong.

Or you could listen to something more electronic, making the rain turn into something less dreary and more exciting or blood-pumping.

Not only is music able to reverse moods, but music is also used as a form of bonding with other humans. We all know that music is the thrill of the party, but it can also be used to find interests you may share with new acquaintances or family.

One of the lesser important factors of music enjoyment is watching their video accompaniments.  Although this may not be AS important, it’s still worth mentioning. Visuals linked to music give us a gist of how or why this song was created, or give us background on some of the songs lyrics.

Below is a great example of a song that executes this pairing efficiently.

It’s A-ha’s “Take On Me” from 1986.  This song has amazing visuals that clearly show that the lyrics in the song symbolize taking you to a parallel universe.
